Description
Self-tracking iOS app by Nicholas Felton (of the Feltron Annual Report) and co-developers including Drew Breunig. Reporter randomly prompts users several times a day to answer questions about what they're doing, where they are, who they're with, and how they feel — a form of experience sampling. By asking at random intervals rather than requiring continuous logging, the app captures an unbiased statistical snapshot of daily life. The data can be exported for analysis and visualization, and Felton used Reporter to collect data for his later annual reports. The app embodies the quantified self principle that personal data becomes meaningful through structured collection and reflection.
