Description
Electromagnetic field visualization by Miami-based artist Nicolas D. Lobo. The specific work is "Miramar substation/EMF displacement," commissioned by Locust Projects, a nonprofit alternative art space in Miami's Design District. Lobo produced a physical model of the electromagnetic field generated by the power substation adjacent to Locust Projects' gallery space, making visible the invisible energy patterns radiating from urban electrical infrastructure. The sculpture translates EMF measurements into three-dimensional form, mapping the shape and intensity of electromagnetic radiation that surrounds us constantly but remains imperceptible. Lobo's practice frequently engages with the invisible forces and material properties of everyday environments.
