Description
"Community Pulse" by Stamen Design for Adobe Kuler, visualizing the colors that people are using on the Kuler community platform. Kuler (now Adobe Color) was a web-based color theme tool where users create and share five-color palettes — essentially Flickr but for color. Stamen's visualization mapped color usage patterns across the community, showing which colors were trending, how palettes clustered by hue and saturation, and how community members influenced each other's color choices. The project demonstrated that even something as subjective as color preference generates data with discernible patterns when observed at scale. Stamen Design, founded by Eric Rodenbeck in San Francisco, is known for creative data visualization and custom cartography.
