Description
US Interstate Highway System drawn in the style of a transit diagram by Cameron Booth, a graphic designer and transit map enthusiast based in Portland, Oregon. First published in 2009 and regularly updated (the latest major revision in 2020), Booth's map treats highways as subway lines with interchanges as stations, straightening curves and regularizing angles in the tradition of Harry Beck's 1933 London Underground map. The map strips away geographic accuracy in favor of topological clarity, making the complex US highway network legible at a glance. It has been widely shared and is sold as a poster through Booth's Transit Maps store.
