Description
GED VIZ is an interactive visualization tool that lets users create and share visualizations of global economic relations — for research, teaching, and storytelling. Part of the Global Economic Dynamics (GED) project by the Bertelsmann Stiftung (a German foundation), it shows trade flows, migration, foreign direct investment, and financial relationships between countries using animated chord diagrams. Users can select countries and economic indicators to generate custom visualizations, then export or embed them. The project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the growing complexity of economic developments, focusing on relations, exchange, and dependencies between countries. The tool was built by 9elements, a German software studio, and uses open data from the World Bank, IMF, and OECD.
