Description
The COVID-19 Community Vulnerability Index (CCVI) was developed by Surgo Ventures to help communities identify and address factors that make them more vulnerable to COVID-19 impacts. The index combines multiple data sources including demographics, healthcare capacity, disease prevalence, and socioeconomic factors to create vulnerability scores for communities across the United States.
The interactive tool allows public health officials, policymakers, and community leaders to identify high-risk areas and allocate resources more effectively. By mapping vulnerability at the county and community level, the CCVI helps prioritize interventions such as testing sites, vaccination campaigns, and public health messaging to protect the most at-risk populations.
