Description
Catalogtree is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Arnhem, Netherlands (and Berlin), founded in 2001 by Daniel Gross and Joris Maltha, who met at Werkplaats Typografie. Nina Bender was part of the studio from 2011 to 2020. The studio works on data visualization, advanced cartography, and information design, known for systematic, algorithmic approaches to typography and generative graphics. Their projects often use custom software to generate visual outputs from datasets — turning spreadsheets into posters, maps, and books through rule-based design systems. Their work is in the collections of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Museum of Design, Het Nieuwe Instituut, and the Museum of Design Zurich.
